This program seeks to empower participants by encouraging all to think about how to plan and communicate end-of-life decisions to spouses, partners, children, and parents. The aim is to assemble a means of decision-making (prior to crisis) and to explore what one wants for oneself. The DVD entitled “How to Be with Someone Who is Dying” will be shown. Each year, Interweave Continental confers the Mark DeWolfe Award on a Unitarian Universalist who has contributed substantially to improving the lives of LGBTQ people in a Unitarian Universalist setting or in the wider community.
This award was established to honor the memory of the Reverend Mark DeWolfe. Mark was one of the first openly gay minister in the Unitarian Universalist Association. He was called to serve the Unitarian congregation of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

The Gulfport Public Library LGBTQ collection and online resource center will hold a program entitled Coming Out in Faith: Gay and Godly with author Susan Gore in the main area of Gulfport Public Library on Tuesday, June 16 at 7 p.m.
Susan Gore is co-editor of Coming Out in Faith, which has been named "one of three must-reads" on the intersection of LGBTQ and faith-based identity by Huffington Post Religion contributor Janet Mason. Her next book, Gays God and the Workplace: Not Mutually Exclusive is forthcoming.

Do Transgender Women Have a Place in the Lesbian Community?

Transgender women who identify as lesbians often face skepticism, if not outright exclusion, from cisgender women, particularly in the lesbian separatist community. Lack of knowledge or misunderstanding often fuels exclusionary behavior, just as awareness and understanding can change it. Kathleen (a transgender lesbian) and Susan (a cisgender bisexual) have been friends, colleagues and travel companions since 1991. They will share the challenges and growth they have experienced through their friendship in a safe-space dialogue format.
