| Susan Gore is passionate about individuals and organizations realizing their full potential. By the age of 30, Susan had worked in television, earned her Ph.D., taught in the United States and Europe and become Executive Director of the National Women’s Studies Association. She transferred the same energy into corporate marketing for two Fortune 500 firms, in addition to opening the Washington, DC office of a national money fund. In 1991, Susan established The Mentor Group, specializing in marketing communications, leadership development, and strategic planning. Susan is an engaging speaker whose message is crafted from personal experience and delivered with a humorous touch. She has spoken internationally on topics such as women and AIDS (International Congress of Psychologists, Australia), diversity and inclusion (Airlaanga University, Indonesia) and mental health (UN Decade for Women World Congress, Kenya). In the US, Susan has given invited presentations for the Society for Human Resource Management, the National Conference on Diversity, PFLAG, the Dallas Center for Non-profit Management and too many others to list. Consulting clients range from the US government (Department of Defense, FDIC, IRS, Postal Service and Coast Guard) to corporations including AT&T, BP, Deloitte, Fossil, GlaxoSmithKline, Kendall Jackson Enterprises, Microsoft, PepsiCo, Shell Oil and TI. Not-for-profit and faith-based clients include Richland Hospital, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), Leadership Texas and the Unitarian Universalist Association. . Susan received her B.S. from Florida State University and her Ph.D. in social psychology from Vanderbilt University. She completed advanced training in managing cultural diversity at The Equity Institute. She has written on a variety of topics, most recently "Generational Differences in the Workplace: Collaboration or Conflict?" in 52 Activities for Improving Cross-Cultural Communication (2009). In 2008, Susan co-produced a DVD entitled How to BE With Someone Who Is Dying. During the year-long production process, Susan discovered a calling to hospice and palliative care; she currently is pursuing certification in end-of-life counseling. As a world traveler,
Susan has combined her passions for diversity and service on medical missions
to the Galapagos Islands and El Salvador. Locally, Susan has served on
the board of the Dallas Women’s Foundation and is a charter member
of Celebration on the Lake Church, an interfaith welcoming congregation
in Gun Barrel City, Texas. |
